Departments explained

See how your store Departments work on Local Express and set them up properly.

Each store you create on Local Express has its Departments and Categories where products are classified. In order to view Department information follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to Catalog on the left sidebar.

2. Expand the Departments and choose to view either the departments of a specific store or all departments you have.

3. View the departments' information here.

  • Title: The name of your department (e.g. Alcohol)

  • Department Icon: The favicon of your department.

  • Department App Image: The image of the department displayed in the mobile app.

  • Department Image: The image of the department displayed to your customers on the front-end of your store.

  • Store: This department belongs to the store mentioned here.

  • Categories: The number of categories this department has.

  • Collecting sort order: When a new order is received, you'll start collecting according to this order.

  • Sort order: Your customers view your store departments according to this order.

  • Mark Up %: This means that you increase the prices of all products in that department by a %.

  • Age Verification: Enable age verification for a specific department (e.g. Alcohol, Tobacco) so that customers under 18 cannot order the products. This will be checked on the checkout page and when delivered.

  • No Sync: Turn the switcher on when you want to exclude the department from POS.

  • Edit: Click Edit to change the details of this department.
